Competition or practice shall be suspended once lightning has been recognized or thunder is heard.
It is required to wait at least 30 minutes after the last flash of lightning is witnessed or thunder is heard prior to resuming practice or competition.
Any subsequent lightning or thunder after the beginning of the 30-minute count shall reset the clock, and another count shall begin.
ALL Coaches and Referees have the responsibility to keep our players safe.
The first sign of thunder/lightning requires field evacuation to cars or nearby shelters.
If referees have not made the decision to stop play of the game, then the coaches need to make the executive decision to cease play.
Resumption of Play
If it's possible to get one entire half completed and not delay the next game's start, teams are encouraged to resume play.
When in doubt, err on the side of safety and common sense as to whether the game should be postponed to a later date.
